Friends of Guinea (FOG), a National Peace Corps Association affiliate group, is a volunteer-run nonprofit organization consisting mainly of current and former Peace Corps volunteers serving in Guinea, and their friends and families that aims to, among other goals, work towards the long-term development of Guinea by supporting and initiating worthy projects.
FOG provides one-time, small project grants of up to $500 that support people and organizations which provide direct benefits to the people of Guinea.
Guidelines/Criteria
- The project must take place in Guinea and benefit Guinean people or communities.
- The project should be sustainable.
- Funds cannot be requested for the following: government agencies, political or religious activity, debt relief, administrative costs (i.e. overheads, salaries, office supplies, or other general operating expenses.)
- Preference will be given to Peace Corps-related projects and organizations based in Guinea.
Application Process
- Open grant application cycle: currently ongoing
- Applicant submits completed application and supporting documents online OR via email to [email protected] with the subject heading “Small Grants Application” during the open grant application time frame.
- FOG will acknowledge receipt of application within one week of submission.
- Applications are reviewed by FOG officers within one to two months of the application submission and informed of funding decision.
If approved:
- Applicant will be notified and funds will be disbursed.
- Monitoring and evaluation reports and accompanying documents (including pictures) must be submitted at the agreed upon dates.
