Staying Involved

If you'd like to get in touch with a few RPCVs from Guinea of 1986 and 1987 please get in touch with guinearpcvs1987 @ yahoogroups.com

Peace Corps Day happens every year in March. Many RPCVs have shared their experiences with local schools. Our resident expert, teacher Cindy Diouf, shares her tips and a powerpoint presentation.

You can find your old friends on the FOG Registry. You can sort by when and where they served, as well as name or location. You could host a dinner for Guinea RPCVs in your area! There are also Guineans and Friends of volunteers on the list. If you wish to serve as a Volunteer Mentor, giving advice and wisdom to prospective PCVs, please email registry @ friendsofguinea.org.

Your Old Letters Home

Would you donate one or two (or three) of the best of your letters home during your Peace Corps Service to PeaceCorpsWriters.org? We think that your letters home are as interesting  and insightful as any published in collections today, we would like to publish them in a collection entitled Letters Home

I am looking for letters that describe the life you led as a Volunteer. I am interested in all aspects of your Peace Corps experience, from missing home to making a home; from doing your job overseas to traveling in the third world.  If we are successful in publishing a book, the royalties will go to continue and improve our on-line newsletter.

Please send a copy (not the original) to: John Coyne - 99 Reed Avenue - Pelham Manor NY 10803
