For candidates interested in African/international development, in gaining some field work experience in this area, and in enriching their CV, this is the perfect opportunity for you!!! INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME FOR AFRICA As part of the pilot stage of the UNDP-UNESCO Joint Project for Leadership Development, it has been determined that 4 Africans from the Diaspora should be identified and offered the opportunity to undertake 2-month internships within Ghana, Zambia, Sierra Leone and Senegal. These internships are intended to offer opportunities to young Africans in the Diaspora to enable them to build their confidence and give them practical experience of working within development organizations in Africa. Feedback from these internships will provide some of the inputs to shape a Leadership programme that will offer both practical and technical training to build leadership skills and capacity for Africa's future leaders. INTERNSHIP ORGANISATIONS: Internships are available in UN and development agencies in Ghana, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Zambia from February to April 2005. Interns will be university graduates who have completed their university study and are available and flexible. Graduates would be required to contribute to the internship by paying for their flights to/from the country of placement and any required visas. Should funding be an issue, AFFORD is willing to assist selected candidates with advice on where to look for or how to raise the required funding.
